# Export traces to Dash0

> Send Checkly traces to Dash0 with a static auth token.

Before you start, read the prerequisites on the [OTLP export page](https://www.checklyhq.com/docs/integrations/observability/traces/otlp.md) and check [what is sent](https://www.checklyhq.com/docs/integrations/observability/traces/otlp.md#what-is-sent).
This page only covers the values Dash0 needs.

1. Get the endpoint. In Dash0, open **Settings** > **Endpoints** and copy the URL for your organization. It ends in `/v1/traces` with no trailing slash, for example `https://ingress.eu-west-1.aws.dash0.com/v1/traces`.
2. Get the key. In Dash0, open **Settings** > **Auth Tokens** and create a token. Use a static token that starts with `auth_`.

3. Paste the values into Checkly. On the [Traces settings page](https://app.checklyhq.com/settings/account/traces), turn on **Enable exporting traces**, paste the URL, and add the header from the table below.

4. Find the spans. In Dash0, the spans appear under service `checkly`.

| Header name | Value |
| - | - |
| `Authorization` | `Bearer auth_...` |

Add a `Dash0-Dataset` header row to write to a specific dataset. A token restricted to a dataset gets a 403 without it.

Dash0 documents the endpoints in [Setup without Kubernetes](https://www.dash0.com/docs/dash0/telemetry/signal-control/edge/setup-without-kubernetes).

To see failed runs, filter on the attribute `checkly.check.status` with the value `FAILED`.
The [OTLP export page](https://www.checklyhq.com/docs/integrations/observability/traces/otlp.md) has the span schema.
